Can head coach Jim Zorn turn this mess around in Washington?
Historically Donovan McNabb, and the Philadelphia Eagles, have lit up the scoreboard, on Monday nights. The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday night games. However one key stat to look at is the Eagles are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Washington. Washington also beat Philadelphia both times last year. Can the Washington Redskins upset Philadelphia as road dogs at +7 1/2.
Head coach Jim Zorn of the Washington Redskins has been stripped of his playcalling duties, while Sherm Lewis has taken our that position with only about two weeks to understand the offense. It seems like things keep getting worse for the Washington Redskins, and QB Jason Campbell has struggled as well trying to get the offense to go. The Washington Redskins are hoping that this game doesn’t become a blowout embarrassment in front of a national audience on Monday night football. The two offense of players to watch for on the Redskins tonight will be Clinton Portis, and tight end Chris Cooley. Clinton Portis is ranked 12th for running backs in yardage with 447.
Philadelphia hopes to rebound after the shocking upset at Oakland. The Eagles continue to disappoint, the offense of line has been weak, the defense has been less than stellar, and linebacker Omar Gaither is on season-ending injured reserve. Currently Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown are ranked third and sixth respectively with a combined seven interceptions. Philadelphia’s run game has been lacking as the leading rusher Brian Westbrook is ranked 47th with only 184 yards. If Philadelphia wants to contend this season, they are deftly enough to step up their offense. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson is ranked 35th with 354 yards receiving.
The Washington Redskins are scoring 13.2 points per game, and the Philadelphia Eagles are nearly doubling net with 27.2 points per game. As for the defenses the Philadelphia Eagles are only allowing 19.8 points per game, and the Washington Redskins have only been allowing 16 points a game which is ranked fifth in the NFL.
