The Minnesota Vikings 13-4 take on the 14-3 New Orleans Saints after both teams finished with 31 point victories against their NFC playoff opponents. The early Vegas line has the Saints favored at -3.5 and the over under point total is set a 53 points. Bet the NFC Championship game at Bodog.com

Minnesota is averaging 30 points per game on offense and the defense is giving up 18.5 ppg. The Saints are putting up 32.6 ppg and giving up 20.9 ppg. The Saints average 404 yards per game and the Vikes are averaging 379.6 ypg. Both teams have excellent rushers in RB Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush. The mathematical prediction for this game is Saints 24 Minnesota 21. Can the Vikes cover the 3.5 points, bet the NFC Champion Underdogs at Bodog.com

Favre is coming off a season best year and a 4 TD playoff win over Dallas. Favre went 15/24 for 234 yards and no picks. A.P. finished with another dismal performance averaging 2.4 yards per carry, no td’s and only 63 yards. Superstar WR Sidney Rice grabbed 6 catches for 141 yards and 3 TD’s.

On defense the Vikings were fierce. They racked up 6 sacks forced 3 fumbles and intercepted Tony Romo once. Defensive ends Jared Allen and Ray Edwards applied constant pressure on Romo. Ben Lieber had his first pick of the year.

Drew Brees had a similar performance against the Cardinals. 23/32 for 247 yards and 3 td’s, and no interceptions. Outstanding play by Reggie Bush who had a 83 yard punt return, along with a 46 yard rushing touchdown. The Saints scored on 5 of their 6 first half possessions.

Prediction: The Saints have an edge on passing, special teams and home field which should give them enough to win this one. Their defense against the run has been soft, so A.P. may be a factor, but Minny’s soft secondary will be no match for Brees and Co. Saints by 7-10 points and I like the over.
